My name is Michael Black
and I am an odd duck. At least, I’ve been called that no less than 15 times by different people. I love photography, but I’ve held jobs in public relations, communications, videography, aviation, restaurant management, and even tore movie ticket stubs and washed rental cars at one point or another over the course of my life.
I was raised in Ormond Beach, Florida, but have called Gainesville (FL), Chicago (IL), Boston (MA), Washington (DC, not the State — yet), and Portland (ME) home over the years.
I enjoy aviation, American History, traveling, baseball, the Florida Gators, bonfires, aviation, hiking mountains (not, like, Everest though), fishing, kayaking, aviation, NFL Sundays, the Discovery Channel (specifically MythBusters), chocolate chips cookies, chocolate milk, chocolate covered strawberries, aviation, reading books (biographies are my favorite), road trips, long walks on the beach, sunrises, and did I mention aviation? I’m a nerd for airplanes and airports.
I’ll try to constantly update and improve this site (and my life), so stay tuned. If you have any questions, find me on the socials or drop a line in the link below. Lets connect! But not in a weird, LinkedIn way.
I shoot on a Sony A6600 and my favorite Founding Father is Benjamin Franklin, if you’re curious.
